Rainbow Trout Bounty – $50 to $1000

Posted in General on March 31, 2010 by Greg Harris

Idaho Fish & Game has recently announced the South Fork Snake River Angler Incentive Program.  Under this program anglers will have an opportunity to earn a “bounty” on tagged rainbow & hybrid trout caught in the South Fork of the Snake.  The bounties range from $50 to $1000.

Recently F&G has tagged 575 rainbow & hybrid trout which can be identified with white tip fins.  Rewards are based on coded wire tags embedded in the snout of the fish.  The only way to know if you will be awarded a bounty is to bring the head of the fish to F&G as the embedded tags are too small to be seen.  There are also no limits on the number of rainbows or hybrids that can be taken on the South Fork of the Snake.

This is being done to encourage anglers to harvest every rainbow & hybrid fish caught as surveys conducted in 2009 show that for the first time ever rainbow trout out number native cutthroat trout in the South Fork of the Snake.

People see the F&G video below or check their website for more details (click here).

Patagonia’s 2010 Digital Fly Fishing Catalog

Posted in General on March 25, 2010 by Greg Harris

Click here to check out Patagonia’s first digital fly fishing catalog.  It is really sweet way to present & deliver a catalog.  Just as Patagonia claims, the web-based catalog allows for more in-depth product information and more “soul of the sport” through audio & video embedded on many of the pages.
