Posted in General on August 3, 2011 by flyfishidaho

This month’s fish out was a bit slow on the Owyhee with an outside temperature in the 90′s.Water temp’s varied from 50 to 65 degrees, water clarity was in the brown range, with a sparse mayfly hatch in the evening. A few fish were caught but overall it was tough fishing still beats mowing the lawn!!!

Roadside Cleanup And Fishout For June

Posted in General on June 11, 2011 by flyfishidaho

Road Side Clean up/Fishout.(little Camas)   Saturday. June 25th. This is a CHANGE OF DATE!!. Meet at T&A truckstop at 8:30 AM.  We will pick up trash in our designated area in the AM and then continue on to Little Camas to fish for the remainder of the day.  Bring your gloves/ walking boots and favorite pointy stick !!!  A good thought was brought up at the Board meeting- Some members and /or new members may not participate in some fishouts if they are unfamilar with how to proceed or don’t have the neccessary equipment. If anyone wants to fish Little Camas on the 25th and needs to borrow a Pontoon Boat/Fins please let me know.  You will need waders / a life jacket or PFD and a rod ( a sinking or sink tip line is best).  Note: Little camas is a reservoir and is best fished with a small boat, or a pontoon boat w/oars. ( an  electric trolling motor works also- but remember your boat must be registered) The fish are where you find them and sometimes this means rowing . Wind can be an issue- a float tube will work but I would not get too far from the launch site.
