Teton River Fly-Fishing Only?

Posted in General on June 17, 2010 by Greg Harris

In today’s Teton Valley News is an article about a citizen petition to make a portion of the Teton River (from West Bates to Buxton Bridge) fly fishing only.

A petition calling for a stretch of the Teton River to be designated fly-fishing only is circulating in the Valley. The idea is that the designation would stimulate the local economy, at least according to Rob Merrill who is behind the initiative. He says bait fishing and spin casting just aren’t as lucrative, economically and they cause harm to the fishery.”

Duck Valley Fish-Out Report

Posted in General on June 3, 2010 by Greg Harris

Below are a couple of the pictures from the club’s most recent Fish-Out at Duck Valley.  All the pictures that I have received so far can be viewed here.

As part of the Fish-Out part of the crew assisted in clearing new campsites and the director for Duck Valley rewarded the crew with some passes to Billy Shaw.  Great work guys!

It sounds like the fishing was a bit slow, but the fish that were caught averaged around 18 inches.   It looks like everyone had a great time and there was a great turn out with around 15 members making the trip.
