Fly Fishers of Idaho

TU held its annual casting tournament again this year at Eagle Island State Park,with are famous team the Leaky Boots , from left to right Brian Salgrove, Brad Strawn, Joe Kotts, Rachel the competition and Tom Rogers,Nice job guys.

Hello all this months meeting will include a presentation by Don Sherron on taking better pictures.

Bring your cameras ,we will be discussing a few pointers on composing your shots,lighting,rule of thirds etc!

It’s that time of the year for the Expo Idaho Sportsman show. Come on out to the fly fishers of Idaho Booth, we will be raffleing off one fly rod combo, one spinner combo and our big fish full of flies.Special thanks to Wayne Johnson of Anglers Habitat for supplying us with the rods, see you there.

This months meeting will be at the Players Pub ( back room) of Westies bowling alley near the front of the fairgrounds off Chinden Blvd. Our regular meetings will continue at the fish and game office in February. Remember to bring flies for the big fish and your dues.!!!

This year’s Christmas party was a huge success. Thanks to all that made the arrangements. We had an excellent turnout.  As the new year approaches  let’s all stay safe and have a happy holiday. Not pictured was the Kotts family.       D Sherron

FFI has lost a long time member and friend. Michael Lee Murray passed away on Nov. 5, 2012 doing what he loved best fishing in one of his favorite holes.Mike was a real asset to the club always willing to get involved and help out where he could. He will truly be missed. A celebration of his life with military honors by the United States Navy will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, Nov 13, 2012 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Roger Phillips from the Idaho Statesman will be our guest speaker this month come on out and here the latest on high mountain lake fishing.

Our guest speaker this month is Russ Keifer a fish biologist discussing Steelhead where and how to pursue them , come on out.
