Fly Fishers of Idaho

Don’t forget the Owyhee River Fish-Out is this Saturday, March 28th.  A number of members are meeting at the Shari’s Restaurant in Meridian at 8:00am and then heading over to the river. 

Based on recent reports it sounds like the Owyhee is starting to come to life.  It doesn’t sound like there are a lot of skwalas on the water yet, but it didn’t take long for the fish to hammer the ones that were.

The 2009 Fish-Out schedule has been announced!

Fish-Outs are a way for our members to get together and fish at designated hot spots.  There is a lot of camaraderie at these outings and it is a great way to learn about a new area & the techniques to use once you get there.  You might even be able to bum some flies off one of the other members if you’re lucky. 

In addition to the numerous day & weekend trips planned for this year there are a couple of special multi-day trips for those that can make it.  April 1^st – 10^th is a Steelhead trip in the Stanley area and August 12^th – 19^th is an Alaska trip on the Nushagak River to chase Silver Salmon.  If you are interested in the Alaska trip please contact Joe Kotts at (208) 362-3778 before April 1^st.

It’s time to pull out the gear & get it wet. 

The February Fish-Out is occurring this Saturday, February 21st.  We are going to be checking out the Boise River this month.  If you are interested please meet at the Barber Park parking lot at 9:00am.
