May Fish-Out: Duck Valley

When: May 13^th-16^th at Mountain View Reservoir

Where: Click here

Who: We have around 12 members already to committing to this event that was so well received last year.

Details: There are 12 sites that include power that can be reserved by contacting the tribe. These sites are $16.50 per day and can be reserved by calling (775) 757-3301.

There are additional sites available for $6; these are first come first serve.

Licenses can be purchased at the grocery store on the reservation for $10 per day for Sheep Creek and Mountain View or $25 for Billy Shaw.

Some members will be heading down early throughout the week, so call around and see if someone else is heading down early that you would like to spend some additional time with.

Also, please bring firewood and as the area has been scrounged pretty good over the years.

The Flyline – April Issue

The Flyline is only available to members of FFI so if you don’t have the password and you have already paid your 2010 dues please shoot us an e-mail and we will get you the password ASAP.

Also please join us for our April meeting this Thursday (April 15) at 6:30pm in the Trophy Room of Idaho Fish & Game headquarters. Jeff Dillon from IDFG will be our guest speaker this month.

South Fork of the Boise Fish Out Trip Report (Pics Only)

First Fish-Out of 2010 – Clear Lakes

This Saturday, February 20^th, is the first Fish-Out of 2010.

Clear Lakes will the destination for this fish out and based on the picture below it looks like the fishing is pretty good. Milt landed this seven plus pound rainbow on February 12^th. Make sure you hit him up for all the tips at Thursday’s meeting.

For anyone interested in carpooling or caravanning to Clear Lakes we will be departing from the TA Truck Stop/Boise Travel Center #167 at the Broadway Exit (exit #54) at 8:00 a.m.

February FFI Updates

Just as the temperatures are starting to heat up outside so are things at FFI, we have a number of events,activities, & changes to update you on. Below are a few of the highlights:

The 2010 Fish-Out schedule has been released. Please click here to check it out.
The password to access The Flyline & the fishing buddy list has changed. Members who have paid their 2010 dues have been e-mailed the new password. If you haven’t received the new password and you have paid your 2010 dues please shoot me an e-mail.
Our next FFI meeting will be on Thursday, February 18th in the Trophy Room of the F&G headquarters. Tying will start at 6:30 and the regular meeting will start at 7:00.
The Fly Fishing Film Tour will be in Boise on Saturday, February 20th. The doors open at 6:30pm at the Egyptian Theatre. Discount tickets can be purchased at Idaho Angler.
We are looking for volunteers to man the FFI booth at the Sportsman’s Show that will be held on March 4 -7. If you can help please shoot us an e-mail with the days & times you would be available. At our meeting on 02/18 we will review the schedule and lock down times.
We will also need your help with gathering enough flies to fill up our “Big Fish” that is raffled off at the Sportsman Show. Please bring any flies that you would like to donate to the meeting on 02/18.
Due to a scheduling conflict with F&G our March meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 16th in the auditorium at the MK Nature Center.

We also have two new members on the FFI board of directors. Arvis Haskins & Don Sulgrove have agreed to serve on the board. They will be filling the seats previously held by Paul Axness & Duane Treat. Please join us in welcoming Arvis & Don to the board and thanking Paul & Duane for all they have done for FFI while serving on the board.

October 24th Fish-Out Changed

The October 24^th Fish-Out scheduled for Billingsley Creek has been changed to the South Fork of the Boise. Reports from Billingsley Creek haven’t been very good so in the October members meeting it was decided to head over to the South Fork instead. Anyone interested in car pooling or caravanning over should meet at the TA Travel Center (4115 Broadway Ave., Boise). We will be leaving TA at 8:00am.

Middle Fork of the Boise Fish-Out

This weekend is the Middle Fork of the Boise Fish-Out. A few of the guys will be leaving on Friday afternoon to find a place to camp above Sheep Creek and we will be fishing above the confluence of the North Fork & the Middle Fork.
